Location: Portslade

Book here: http://summereventsjune13.eventbrite.co.uk

Safety Net’s 3 hour ‘Safeguarding Brighton and Hove Community Events’ course is designed to answer all of the questions below and give you the confidence and knowledge to manage your event with the safety of children and young people at the core of your activities.

* Do you know your legal responsibilities? Whether you need to CRB check volunteers?
* Would you know what to look out for as signs of abuse?
* Would you know what to do if you saw or heard something worrying?
* Do you have clear policies and procedures in place?

It is your duty to safeguard children and young people attending any event – whether parents and carers are present or not. This course is suitable for any Brighton & Hove individual or group:
* Planning to put on a family friendly activity
* Planning a community event, street party or celebration
* Running a small festival or open air gig

The course will take place from 10am-1pm at Safety Net’s Training Room in Portslade. Please download full directions here: http://www.safety-net.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Directions-to-Safety-Net-Training-Room.pdf – the entrance is located in a different place to our postcode.

We ask that you book no more than four people from one organisation on to this course. From our experience we know that any more than this can affect the group dynamic and the session can end up focused on one particular group. We would like everyone to feel included in the training – sessions are far more exciting when there is a good mix of diverse participants from different organisations!

If you have more than four people needing training on one set date get in touch with Lynne Charmer, Let’s Protect Programme Manager, at lynne.charmer@safety-net.org.uk

If for any reason you are unable to attend the training please contact us on 01273 420973 or by email at training@safety-net.org.uk at your earliest convenience to cancel your place.

Places on courses cancelled with less than two weeks notice before the course start date will not be refunded. All courses are based upon a minimum of 12 attendees. If under subscribed, Safety Net may postpone a course until the following scheduled date and move your booking accordingly.
If you would like to put something on this noticeboard, please send it to us at info@resourcecentre.org.uk
